Real-time clock  is the PC motherboard motherboard and the relevant circuit composed of the clock circuit generated pulse, RTC 8254 circuit through the frequency of a lower frequency OS (system) clock TSC, the system clock every cpu Cycle plus one, each time the system clock at the beginning of the system through RTC initialization. 8254 itself also needs to have its own drive clock (PIT).
